This Chrolo Hourglass by Sparkpluck Studio is a little bit special, it is said to be an hourglass without actually having any sand, and with a timekeeping task of 1 minute each time, it looks more like a work of art and engineering masterpiece.
The task is carried out by a stainless steel ball with a slide made of synthetic resin, designed as a spiral structure with 59 layers. With an overall height of 19 centimeters and a width of 13 centimeters, it won't take up much space on a desk.
The only thing that Chrolo has in common with an ordinary hourglass is that it also utilizes the earth's gravity - the ball passes through each layer of the slide for exactly one second. With each layer, the ball makes a sound similar to the movement of a second hand, and more interestingly, when it hits the lowest copper tray, it makes a crisp “ding” sound, which is exactly one minute.
